WHAT NO GI BJJ GEAR WILL I NEED?
In addition to your Jujitsu suit, you'll also need some specialized clothing such as rash guards,no-gi BJJ shorts and potentially spats. Rash guards help protect your skin from mat burns while providing compression to improve blood flow, they are essentially the same thing as what Surfers wear. In fact, they originally came from the sport of surfing.. Meanwhile, shorts should be loose-fitting with either a fitted waist or an elasticated waistband for comfort during grappling movements.
Many No Gi Jiu Jitsu players now use a form of athletic tights commonly called spats. They are similar in construction to rashguards and serve the same purpose but for the legs allowing total freedom of movement whilst saving you from mat burns and skin infections.
