Everything Needed to Get the Right MMA Cage for Your Gym
FightstorePro understands that building a combat sports facility for the first time can feel like a minefield of choices — so let us help take the pain out of it. We assist with every aspect of building a combat sports facility, and our MMA cages are made in the UK to a standard built for daily commercial use, not just looks. An MMA cage is often the centrepiece of a facility and rarely a small investment, so getting it right is paramount.
Our goal is simple: get you the cage you actually want, at a price that works. It's why gym owners who build with FightstorePro tend to stay with FightstorePro for every ring, cage, and refit after.
OUR MMA CAGES
MMA CAGE FAQ's
When fitting a gym, there's a lot to consider. Below are the questions we're most often asked by organisations building or refitting a facility around an MMA cage.
What sizes and shapes of MMA cage do you offer?
Whatever size and shape suits your space. Cages are built from panels, with each panel manufactured to a size that creates the overall structure — common panel widths run between 1.75m and 2.25m, though effectively any size can be made to order.
- Octagon cages — Built from eight panels, this is the classic Octagon-style cage made famous by the UFC, and our most requested layout.
- Hexagon cages — A six-panel design, popular where floor space or aesthetic preference calls for a different shape.
- Circular cages — An increasingly popular option, built from curved panels that form a complete circle.
Floor, elevated, or competition cage — what's the difference?
Like boxing rings, MMA cages can be built to sit on the floor, on a small platform, or as a full elevated competition cage.
Floor MMA Cages
Because of the cage's shape, a floor cage is constructed differently to a floor boxing ring, even though the panels themselves are the same as those used on a competition cage. Where the cage sits within your gym affects how it needs to be fitted — anchor points, clearance, and access all come into play, which is why we assess your space during consultation before finalising the build.
Elevated MMA Cages
An elevated cage solves a problem floor cages can't: because it supports its own structure rather than relying on anchor points in the floor, it can be positioned almost anywhere in your gym. If your cage is going to be the centrepiece of the facility, we'd generally recommend an elevated cage — both for structural stability and for the visual impact it gives the room.
Competition & Platform Cages
Built for gyms intending to host fight events, the platform itself is similar in construction to a raised boxing ring platform.
How do I install an MMA cage?
For full facility fit-outs, we'll often recommend our installation service, priced according to location. If you're confident handling installation yourself, we're equally happy to supply the cage along with advice and guidance as needed.
Can I customise my MMA cage?
Yes — fully. Cage pads, top covers, skirts on elevated cages, and the flooring can all carry custom livery. The mat/canvas surface can be produced to your exact specification, whether that's your gym's logo, sponsor branding, web URLs, or other messaging. We also offer different flooring materials depending on how the cage will be used: ground fighting demands a smoother surface than a boxing canvas, so the material spec differs from a boxing ring even though the customisation options — colour, print, branding — work the same way. All of this is produced alongside our partners in the UK and Europe to your requirements.
How soon can I receive delivery of an MMA cage?
Lead times depend on our production schedule and the specifics of the cage you need — average waiting time is 6–8 weeks. Order well ahead of your opening date, since specification changes are far easier to accommodate before production starts. UK and European delivery times differ depending on distance and current production load.
