Travis Dickinson; The pride of Edmondsley

From a small village in county Durham, to English boxing champion; At only 26 years old, family man Travis Dickinson boasts a professional boxing record of 17-1 with 7 of those win coming by way of knockout. In his last fight for those who were lucky enough to witness it we saw one of the best fights in British boxing history. Al Bernstein described it as "one of the best fights he has ever seen" also saying that "The fight between Dickinson and Clarkson represents the best in boxing" Travis took on worthy opponent Matty Clarkson in the Maxi nutrition semi final where "tasty" put his BBBofC English light heavyweight title on the line. Both men were put to the canvas numerous times in an absolute barn burner of a fight. It looked like an early night for Clarkson as he was put down in the first and second by the heavy hands of the champion. Dickinson went on to endure some vicious body shots that left him physically wincing in pain on the canvas 3 times in the 5th round. Dickinson made it out of the 5th round proving he has the heart of champion and the determination to fight on through the toughest of times. Travis went on to stop Matty Clarkson in the 6th round, the referee called a stop to the contest as Clarkson suffered a visible jaw injury and his left eye was nearly swollen shut. Both men left everything they had in the ring and displayed raw grit and determination in what will be known as one of the best fights we've had the pleasure to watch. Dickinson will be facing off against Bob Ajisafe on Saturday October 4th in the final of the competition. Ajisafe is the only man to of defeated Dickinson in his professional career by unanimous decision in December, 2012. Travis Dickinson however vows to not make the same mistake this time around. If his performances in the maxi nutrition tournament are anything to go by then this promises to be a fantastic fight. Will Dickinson wipe the slate clean and bring the belts back to his home town? We will find out on October the 4th where the two men meet once again in Glow, bluewater, Kent. Best of luck, Travis! Matty Franklin - FSpro store manager
