MMA Shorts Buying Advice

Over the years MMA Shorts aka MMA Fight Shorts have evolved from being swimming trunks with a label on to when guys started wearing surfing shorts to the fully branded MMA wear they are today. There are two Distinct forms of MMA shorts; The longer board short variety that came from the beaches of Brazil and America where the sport of mixed martial arts truly developed and the Vale Tudo trunks (also now known in the UK as “tighties”) which came from the grapplers desire to have little for their opponent to grab onto which were originally swimming shorts. Of the many brands of MMA shorts on the market there seems to be a growing trend of making & more importantly marketing “technical” innovations in what is essentially a pair of surfing shorts with some minor tweaks. Truth is a set of shorts need only be durable and comfortable everything else is simply put fashion! With shorts for training or fighting it really pays to buy Quality and a set of good MMA Shorts will set you back around £40 unless you catch them in the sale. If they are less then chances are they are sacrificing quality for a bottom line which in the gym you will soon know about and end up replacing them very quickly. REVGEAR, Hayabusa, Sprawl and Fairtex all make fine quality shorts which will last many years of constant usage; Be careful to follow washing instructions for both the boardshorts and Vale Tudo variety which should help prolong their useful life. The materials for board shorts vary from brand to brand but are mainly synthetics. The recent popularity of sublimation printing which allows indredible design variation does give way to often lighter weight and less durable materials seen on many famous brands. In short plain, tough, durable makes sense in the gym; a little flair for the cage is great but don’t be the one lifting your hand in victory but holding your shorts together with the other one. Fightstorepro only stock MMA Shorts we consider to be durable which does mean we exclude often popular styles on our site.

Me and my son train a couple of times a week. Since we been training for a while now only high standard products are good enough for him. We bought this whole package and we are so satisfied. The gear is very endurable and has a good fit, also my son really enjoyed the looks of it. I recomend all kids who train martial arts in a hard and serious way to use the Revgear products, it is not easy to find good fight gears for kids. I also would like to give my thanks to the customer support of fightstorepro, you were so helpful when things went a bit wrong. Quick response and Quick solving the problem, impressive work! Kind regards michel and son
